How To Record Vocals To An Instrumental Beat

If you’re unsure of where to start when it comes to recording your own vocals to an instrumental beat at home you are in luck.
I put together a quick video for you to follow along with to be able to properly record your own vocals like a pro!

Line Up

When recording vocals the very first thing you want and need to do is make sure that the beat you are recording to lines up with the bpm / tempo
of the recording template of the software you are using.

One of the most frustrating things you can do is record a bunch of lead and background vocals in a chorus
and then try to copy them to another chorus without lining up the beat to match the grid first. Trust me, I have made this mistake and spent an hour trying to get all the choruses to match up.

What a pain in the A**!

Follow the steps I laid out for you in this video and  you will have a great vocal that’s easy to edit and mix.

This tip is a huge timesaver and I wouldn’t record without doing this first.
